UPDATED School Bus Registration and Eligibility for 2023-2024
School bus registration is now open for the 2023-2024 school year!
Parents need to register their students on the school bus if ANY of the following statements are true:
- My child is attending a different school than in 2022-2023 school year
- My child required a bus pass to ride the school bus in 2022-2023
- My child lives less than 2.4kms from their designated school
- My child had a childcare, shared custody or alternative bus stop in 2022-2023
- My child was attending a School of Choice in 2022-2023
- My child was using interschool bussing in 2022-2023
- My child has moved to a new home address for the 2023-2024 school year
The Peace River School Division is experiencing a shortage of bus drivers, therefore early
registration is critical to ensure that bus routes are created to accommodate students needs.
SCHOOL BUS ELIGIBILITY HAS CHANGED FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
Eligible students are:
- Kindergarten to Grade 6 students who live 1km or greater from their designated school
- Grade 7 to 12 students who live 2kms or greater from their designated school
Students who do not meet these criteria are ineligible for free busing. Students who wish to
purchase a bus pass or use the interschool bus service (where available) will be accommodated
on a first come, first served basis after all the eligible students have been added to bus routes.
