Trades-Based CTS Options Still Going Strong for Cleardale, Hines Creek and Worsley Students
The formation of a Trades Training Planning Committee in 2013 that consisted of members from the Clear Hills County, Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC), the Peace River School Division (PRSD) Board of Trustees and PRSD staff resulted in the Division being able to offer increased trades-based options for students in the County’s boundaries of Hines Creek Composite School, Menno Simons Community School, and Worsley Central School.
Some of the options that have been made available are Carpentry, Wood Working, Motor Mechanics, Small Engine Repair, Welding, Auto Body Repair, Cosmetology, Fashion Design and Food Studies. Clear Hills County provides the funding for the operational costs of these CTS courses.
Superintendent of Schools, Adam Murray states that many students are interested in the trades and with the County’s assistance, the Division continues to be able to offer a wider variety of trades-based CTS options to its students in the communities of Cleardale, Hines Creek and Worsley.
