#DrivingSuccess Staff Celebration: Stacey Wollum
#DrivingSuccess: Staff Celebration
Congratulations to Grimshaw Public School's Grade 1 Teacher Mrs. Stacey Wollum on being selected as the #DrivingSuccess Staff nominee in January. Mrs. Wollum is being celebrated for being "an absolute powerhouse," at her school.
Mrs. Wollum is a mentor for other staff members through her role as the elementary numeracy lead at GPS. She is also a dedicated staff volunteer, stepping up to organize several of the fun events that contribute to the school's overall culture. "Mrs. Wollum is always giving of her time and effort. She organizes our annual Terry Fox Run, Halloween Carnival, and Jump Rope for Heart events, as well as the year-end field trips," wrote GPS Principal Jessica Shaw.
Mrs. Wollum is also an active participant in the Northern Oral Language and Writing Through Play (NOW Play) 2 research project. This project aims to incorporate Indigenous language development into play-based learning by building teaching capacity in northern and rural communities. At GPS that looks like additional opportunities for Mrs. Wollum's Grade 1 students to participate in land-based learning opportunities.
