2024 PRSD Student Teacher Bursary Recipients
Congratulations to our three 2024 Student Teacher Bursary recipients, Emma Jeffs, Elizabeth Chupka and Melissa Sidoroff!
This bursary was created to attract aspiring teachers to work in Peace River School Division schools and communities by providing financial assistance with a return service commitment.
This year, the bursary was offered to student teachers entering their third or fourth year of university. Applicants were required to write a compelling and well-crafted application essay showcasing their passion for teaching and commitment to our northern communities.
Both Emma and Elizabeth, who entered their third year of university this fall, will receive a total of $6,000 over two years. Melissa is in her final year of university and will receive $3,000.
We are excited to see how all three of these women continue to flourish in their post-secondary studies, and can't wait to have them back in one of our classrooms upon their graduation!
