PRSD Schools Celebrate Métis Week
This week marks Métis Week and across the Division many of our schools are celebrating parts of the Métis culture.
Yesterday, students at Grimshaw Public School had the opportunity the learn a traditional Métis jig from Gracie Ressler, a PRSD Alumni.
In other areas of the division, students learned from Métis fiddler Linda Duford, observed a Métis clothing display at their school, heard the Métis national anthem and Métis facts shared during their morning announcements, and on Friday, many of our schools are encouraging their students to "Rock their Mocs."
Every year PRSD schools recognize Métis week as a way to celebrate the heritage, history and contributions of Métis people to Alberta and Canada.
