Michael Harrison: 2025 PRSD Transportation Award of Excellence Winner
The Peace River School Division is proud to announce the 2025 Transportation Award of Excellence to Michael Harrison for his outstanding service to the students and staff at Red Earth Creek School (RECS). Michael was presented with his award earlier this school-year and will be publicly acknowledged during the 2026-2027 Bus Driver Start-Up meeting in August.
Each year, the PRSD Transportation Department awards one of our transportation staff members with the Transportation Award of Excellence. This award recognizes an employee who consistently goes above and beyond in their role. In 2025, Michael was nominated for creating a positive, safe, and welcoming environment on his bus every single day. His nominators mentioned that he maintains a spotless vehicle and greets every student with a smile. Beyond his daily route, Michael consistently goes above and beyond to support student activities. He even egularly takes time off from his full-time job to ensure RECS students can attend field trips, going the extra mile by stepping in to participate in trip activities when needed.
During the winter months, Michael ensures students safely get to and from local activities within Red Earth town limits, such as skating and Christmas concert practices, so they do not have to walk in extreme cold. Known as a reliable team player, Michael works exceptionally well with all school staff and is always willing to lend an extra hand.
