Health Care Aide Program - Students can start college early!
PRSD students - DID YOU KNOW that you can start college early?
The first ten Peace River School Division students registered in the Health Care Aide Program from Northern Lakes College are offered a $3000 bursary from Peace River School Division - which means the program will only cost students around $600.00. REGISTER BY JUNE 26, 2018.
With a Health Care Aide Certificate you can work in acute care, continuing care, long-term care, home care and assisted living.
The course is delivered online with the exception of two, one-week labs at the Northern Lakes campus in Peace River. 200 practicum hours are also required, which can be done in or close to your home community with an approved employer. At the end of the school year and upon successful completion of the program, students will earn a Health Care Aide certificate from Northern Lakes College plus 25 high school credits toward their high school diploma.
Prerequisites for the program include English 10-1 or 10-2 and Math 10-3 or equivalent is strongly recommended. This program is also offered to students who are taking upgrading.
To register, send your application to Northern Lakes College and send a copy of your application to Jeff Thompson, PRSD's Supervisor of Teaching and Learning at email@example.com.
